I was very surprised to see that the gas prices in Gibsons went up today (May 18) from 106.9 to 112.9 cents a litre. Especially when I read on the same day the following story on the net: Oil prices slide under US$70. Oil prices tumbled on Monday to their lowest levels so far this year on concerns about future oil demand and the strong dollar. New York's main contract, light sweet crude for delivery in June, ended $1.55 to $70.73 dollars per barrel, after hitting $69.27 - the lowest level since Oct. 5, 2009.

How can the oil companies justify this increase?

It is also interesting to see that all three companies in this area put their prices up at the same time.

Someone is laughing all the way to the bank.
