Is there no respect?

I am writing this letter to express my disgust at certain people on the Sunshine Coast. I do not know who they are, but I hope, after reading my letter, they will realize how disrespectful they are.

Recently, I placed a vase full of flowers and a note for my deceased wife and our family pets at Sargeants Bay. It was a place my wife loved to sit, and she also enjoyed walking our dogs there. The next morning, I returned there, and they were all gone - just seemed to have disappeared. Who could have done this terrible thing, and why? Someone had previously vandalized a bench I purchased for her at the Sechelt Rotary park pier, along with other benches at the pier. I have since noticed that several other memoriams on benches and seats have been damaged in both Sechelt and Davis Bay.

Do people just not have any respect for those gone ahead, or is this just their way of having fun? If this is the case, their form of humour is not appreciated and could actually be labelled as thoughtless, disrespectful and inhumane. Maybe one day they will realize how hurtful their acts of fun are. No one that is deceased should be treated like this. I hope that when something like this happens to the person who did this that they realize how others feel. But then, do the people who do these things have any feelings at all?

I hope my letter expresses my disgust towards these offenders, and maybe they will think twice before doing this again and hurting anyone else.

The Sunshine Coast is a beautiful and wonderful area to live, despite the thoughtlessness and inconsideration of a few.
