Editor:
I totally agree with Ivan Thompson (“Water solution critical,” Letters, Jan. 5) and his frustration with the lack of any progress in solving our critical water situation.
How long has this been going on with an endless supply of excuses and hand wringing as to why nothing happens?
I then read the report by Sean Eckford on the “progress” on the Comprehensive Regional Water Plan (“Lebbell criticizes Sechelt’s stance on Chapman project”) and I am moved to tears – not of joy but of utter and complete disbelief at the collective incompetence on display at the SCRD.
If the province is somehow part of this then why not involve MLA Nicholas Simons?
The water supply on the Sunshine Coast has been a critical issue for many years and yet we are no nearer a long-term solution than 10 years ago when I moved here.
Is the SCRD completely devoid of any sense of urgency? It would seem so, and for that its members should be shamed and pilloried.
