Editor:

Many congratulations and thanks to everyone involved in Dance Upon a Star, performed last weekend at The Raven’s Cry – the dancers, teachers, choreographers, stage management and those who designed and made all of the wonderful costumes. I would have bet serious money that a show with this talent, complexity and diversity was not possible in Sechelt. Fortunately for me, no one was taking bets.

I was recently a guest at the Central School of Ballet in London and at Covent Gardens Royal Ballet School and attended a performance of Swan Lake at Covent Garden. I also attend rehearsals with the Musical Theatre Department at RAM in London and on this last visit saw shows involving jazz dance and acrobatics. These dancers would have fit in very nicely to all of those shows. It should be impossible to stage such an event here in Sechelt, but they did it. How lucky we are to have so many talented artists here in our small community. Again, Congratulations.

Paul Rhodes, Sechelt
