During the past few weeks we were staying at a family cabin in the Pender Harbour area. I didn’t know that my wallet had been missing for two days until the phone call. A young family found my wallet and turned it in to Tony at Budabing Burgers in Madeira Park. Tony took the time to look up my phone number on the Internet but because we are in the process of moving, that number is no longer in service. He then managed to find a card in my wallet that had my cell number and he contacted me.
When I arrived to get my wallet Tony shook my hand, gave me the wallet and refused the money I offered in appreciation. Three times! “Karma,” he said. “It’s the way we do things around here.” Thanks, Tony, and all the area residents who share the same values.
