In response to the Town of Gibsons and Rogers' proposal to put a multi-use telecommunications tower at the Gibsons fire hall, I say we're already at maximum capacity.

I live six houses down from the fire hall with my four kids. This was the neighbourhood I could afford to buy in. I suspect that is due in part to the existence of the fire hall, ambulance station, electrical substation, and power lines that are all part and parcel of this small area. We fall within the "maximum power density value" as we are within 400 metres of virtually everything mentioned above.

How much is too much? Is the Town of Gibsons interested in the financial and health related well-being of its citizens? I'm going out on a limb in supposing no local government officials, who are a part of this proposition, live in this area. Enough is enough. The easy answer is most definitely not always the right one.

I would urge the Town to have a look at the demographics. It's simply not right to overload this one small neighbourhood with yet one more controversial health risk, not to mention eyesore. At least take responsibility for the fact that many people report health issues related to this, and that property values are affected by these monstrosities.
