As program director for the Sunshine Coast Homelessness Project in 2010-11, I accessed the Upper Deck hostel virtually every night to accommodate those experiencing homelessness on the Coast who otherwise would have been sleeping on the beaches, in the forests or on the streets of our community.
The community is to be commended for bringing forth the Upper Deck as a full-time shelter for those who are homeless on the Coast.
Sanity and compassion prevail.
