Editor:
Safety, emergency access, and a system that meets the scheduled and impromptu needs of adults, seniors and children are primary needs that are not currently met by our antiquated road system. Our overburdened, accident-prone, winding, heavily trafficked highway is a disgrace.
Politicians, policy-makers, and bureaucrats at all levels need to hear the many voices of the public and make improvements to our coastal life line a major priority.
Children waiting for the school bus and seniors needing to cross the highway should not live with the hazards that accompany crowded, narrow, congested roads where huge logging trucks come round the bend at high speeds. The current road should be converted to a local traffic route that is bordered by a Lower Coast bike path that ensures access and enjoyment to both visitors and residents.
Let’s hope that our representatives see the logic surrounding this important issue.
