Hardly credible

Letters

Editor:

Bill Forst’s response to Michael Maser’s comments regarding the NDP’s fundraising is hardly credible. You have to be skeptical about the BC NDP’s campaign message to “ban big money in politics” when they continue to accept “big money” themselves. Big money donors, whoever they may be, tend to donate for the same reason, to gain preferred access and to have their interests given a higher priority than those of the people of B.C. Make no mistake, for this provincial election for the BC Liberals and NDP, it’s big business and big unions as usual. Money will still call the tune.

If you really want to rid B.C. politics of big money, then take note. BC Greens already reject union and corporate donations and have committed to limiting individual donations to be in line with current federal limits.
