I am one who believes making a four-lane road into two was very wrong. The exact spot where this was done is one of the main spots for ferry traffic.
A two-minute drive turns into an almost half-hour drive, with more anger and rude words and gesture being passed around. The only good it has done is given cyclists more safety, yet I see more drivers use the cyclist lane as a right hand turning lane then I have seen people cycling in it.
If money was put into a second highway, even just the part that goes around Gibsons, the majority of traffic along that one spot would be a lot less. Cyclists would have a lot more safety and we wouldn't be going through this mess.
