Fire the board, amend the act

My name is Rosemary Roberts. I commute from Gibsons to my work here on the North Shore via BC Ferries.

I have been reading much in the papers recently about BC Ferries, so I am writing you to ask you to fire the board and amend the Coastal Ferry Act.

I agree with Michael Smyth (Province newspaper columnist) that the salaries of the executives and the compensation of the board at BC Ferries are truly "obscene" and I implore you to wipe the BC Ferries slate clean.

Let's take a page from our neighbours in Washington and how they operate their successful ferry service and base our new BC Ferries framework much more like theirs. After all, imitation is the greatest form of flattery, and after reading about the clean and above-board policies of Washington ferries, I believe that the residents of our wonderful province of British Columbia deserve to flatter our counterparts down south.

Thank you for your anticipated serious hard work, again on behalf of B.C. residents, to fix the atrocious, gluttonous state of affairs at BC Ferries.
