Re: “Ferry tears,” Letters, Dec. 1.
My “choice to live here” has nothing to do with the ineptness of travel between Langdale and Horseshoe Bay.
First, I should not have to pay an extra $20 to reserve a space on the ferry to travel on Highway 101 – the highway begins at the ferry terminal at Langdale. Am I missing something here?
If I had a choice on how to travel from Langdale to Horseshoe Bay, which I don’t, my choice to pay for a reservation becomes just that – my choice. However, the choice becomes null when there is no other way to get to Horseshoe Bay but by ferry.
As well, why should I pay extra to travel on Highway 101 – a highway that my tax dollars already pay for?
I do not have a choice and should not be badgered into paying for this elite service.
I will “stop moaning” when the ferry link is treated as it should be treated – as part of Highway 101.
