Re: “Milne says Community Forest consultation is all about values,” July 20.
Regarding this statement: “Critics of Milne in the Facebook forum ‘Sechelt DOS Buzz’ have alleged a connection between council’s handling of the Community Forest file and the fact that one of Milne’s largest 2014 campaign contributions ($2,500) came from Laurie Bloom. Bloom, a prominent member of Elphinstone Logging Focus, was one of the plaintiffs in the 2017 court action to try to stop logging in EW23, the so-called Chanterelle Forest.”
I’d like to see any evidence that backs up allegations of some (hinted at as being unethical) “connection.” “Alleging” can be performed without even breathing heavy; but I think it’s only fair that these folks, or this forum, publish the data – if they have any – which may support their claims, if they’re trying to cast doubt on the values and integrity of respected members of our community. I believe Coast Reporter has a duty or responsibility to ask for this, as well.
