In a recent letter (Coast Reporter, July 5) Gord Clayton suggests only ratepayers in the District of Sechelt ought to have a say on the new sewage treatment plan.

"Others should get out of the way," he says, and advises "neighbours" to "back off."

My family moved to Roberts Creek in 1964. We and those of my acquaintance have come to understand the Coast as a whole community -not a series of city states. We accept and cherish the idea that all folks living on the Sunshine Coast have the same interests and ought to have a voice in what happens here.

Anyone who suggests that a resident, say, of Roberts Creek, may not have a say in what goes on in Sechelt is, in my view, living in the wrong part of the world.
