We have lived on the Sunshine Coast for more than 30 years. We wanted to downsize, sold our house in Halfmoon Bay and cannot find a new home because our dog is “too big.”
If I told a condo council that my mother-in-law lived with us and weighed more than 100 kg, there would be no problem, and she would be welcomed. If she had dementia or evacuated her bowels on the common area, residents might be repulsed but would be understanding.
Why then, would a 30 kg dog with references be excluded from a townhouse complex? With responsible owners with references? Who were assiduous about the dog’s hygiene? Who made sure that the dog was never out of control and never off leash?
I rest my case.
