Dangerous demonstration

Letters

Editor:

Have you seen the Nissan “cash cow?”

If my sarcasm isn’t obvious, I’m referring to the Nissan Qasqai, specifically their television commercial. To demonstrate the stability of the vehicle while driving, they focus on an open Thermos of steaming hot coffee, with only a ripple, of course. As someone who was badly burned carrying a hot drink while driving, I can attest to the fact that this is dangerous. No cell phones, texting, eating your lunch, applying make-up – anything that distracts from the main purpose, which is to concentrate on driving, has the potential to create serious damage to you and other drivers.

To me the commercial demonstrates Nissan’s lack of moral compass, and their only interest seems to be to offer false security just to see sell this vehicle.

Shame on Nissan, but I doubt they care.
