The Dakota Ridge secret, soon to go public – it’s a free-of-charge dumping ground. One day we were walking our dog and in disbelief witnessed a 30-something blithely unloading reno debris off the back of his flashy new pickup truck. I suppose with the pressure of car payments he couldn’t afford to go to the landfill. Maybe landfill fees should be waived. Rogue dumping is epidemic. What kind of a species despoils its living space?
The disconnect to the natural world: Dakota Ridge is such a beautiful gateway where one can take a short drive and experience a stunning vista through the lens of clearcut logging, broken glass, garbage, rusting car parts and shotgun casings. This special place we call home, in this new age of disenlightenment.
