Keeping cats indoors would go a long way towards helping birds survive – and it would also help to keep cats safe from predators, being run over by cars, getting lost, picking up diseases and parasites or getting poisoned from eating poisoned rodents.
Many cat-lovers build outdoor cat enclosures or catios. A great example can be found at gibsonswildliferehabcentre.org. It’s a good solution to the problem.
