(This letter to Prime Minister Justin Trudeau regarding the purchase of the Kinder Morgan pipeline was copied to Coast Reporter.)
Mr. Trudeau:
As someone who has worked for over 35 years to educate the public and all levels of government on implementing alternatives to activities that harm the environment in home and industry, I feel betrayed by you and your government. Completely.
I held my nose and dropped my ballot for Pamela Goldsmith-Jones and your government last election, mostly to ensure Harper would be history. I didn’t quite believe your too-good-to-be-true environmental and social justice promises. I was sadly correct.
You have not only used my tax dollars against my will to purchase an energy white elephant, you have divided your country. You have bulldozed over any reconciliation that might have been possible with First Nations. You have bought into a system that is outdated, with no market value at the other end, and are now talking about investing the CPP into your plan!
Sir, how dare you? This is not climate leadership. This is not leadership, period. Shame on you.
