Letters once were things well said,
Lines of prose were live, not dead.
Conversations on the phone
Occupied the mind alone.
Communication now advanced,
Speed and brevity are enhanced.
Tiny screens in pockets dwell,
Texts, attachments, ads pell-mell.
Buzz or ding-a-ling command,
Overcome control of hand.
Speaker, screen now seize the mind,
Thinking freely left behind.
