“Shake up the grey cells,” advises Cathie Roy, your former associate publisher (“New goals enhance old loves,” Sept. 16). I sure miss her. She used to shake us up every week at our Toastmasters Club in Gibsons. She showed us by her example how to speak crisp and smart so that we get to the point and say what we have to say and then sit down to applause. Where is she now? On the mainland? We miss her. But even without her our Morningstars Club remains, as she said, “dollar for dollar the best self-improvement group in existence.” Cathie was also a big part in how our early-morning club became unquestionably the most-fun-club on the Coast. We’ve just started a new year and everyone’s welcome. Harmony Hall, Wednesdays, 7 a.m.
