In early spring 1952, grades 8 to 12 students in Gibsons gathered up their books and things and walked up the street from the elementary school buildings to the brand new Elphinstone Junior Senior High School. There was great excitement!

Students from Sechelt also joined us and Port Mellon came the next year. Since my family lived in a very small house, I was impressed by what seemed to be miles and miles of very shiny linoleum. Another student remembers his locker’s combination – another highlight.

It is now 60 years since we graduated in 1956. There aren’t too many of us left. We are planning to get together on July 7 at the Blackfish Pub in Gibsons for lunch. We encourage anyone who remembers us to drop by to say hi.
