Editor:
I am responding to a full-page advertisement that ran in your paper March 10, paid for by the BC Liberal Party endorsing Mathew Wilson for the upcoming provincial election on May 9 of this year.
I found offensive Mr. Wilson’s comment, “This riding is missing opportunities while other B.C. communities are benefiting, because we haven’t had strong representation for the past 12 years.” I was hoping that the days of blacktop politics were behind us, but I guess in the Liberals’ minds, it’s “what have you done for me lately” politics.
Since the days of Liberal MLA Harold Long have long since gone, I guess the message from Mr. Wilson is that unless you are represented by a Liberal in a Liberal government, you don’t benefit.
So whenever I run over one of our many potholes or almost lose my vehicle in some of those ruts on our highway, I will be sure to thank the present Liberal government for the rough ride over the past 12 years. I am sure the next 12 years will be a smoother ride all around our province with our new government after May 9.
