Believe the Syrian on Syria

Letters

Editor:

The recent debate here on Syria shows what a nasty international character Canada is, what a waste of time voting is and what silly shills are the corporate media like CBC.

If you have to choose between contrary views on Syria from corporate, asinine, sentimental CBC or the Syrian Mr. Ibrahim, best to go with the guy who lived there.

If Canada and NATO stopped destroying the Middle East on behalf of the corporate elite, we wouldn’t need debates on refugees and terrorism.

Syria, Iraq and Libya had diverse, stable cultures the West tolerated until they opposed the petrodollar, with their gold dinar, Euro oil sales and the Shiite pipeline. It’s ignorant and wistful to think our incentive for destroying these countries wasn’t economic. Now Iran’s next. And Russia. Now we’re helping Saudi Arabia destroy Yemen. Email our MP Pamela Goldsmith-Jones for the hysterical official version.

The Middle East doesn’t “hate us for our freedom” but because we’re the bad guys no matter who’s in power, and it’s the job of our Bugs Bunny media to obscure that fact.
