My family’s favourite beach in Gibsons is Georgia Beach. There’s a picnic table and nice grass area. However, it is increasingly used by lazy dog owners to let dogs defecate and not clean up, and let owners have some free time while their misbehaving dogs harass other beachgoers. We were there July 12 for an hour and a half and we had a sandwich stolen by a dog, my son was chased by two dogs, and my wife stepped in dog poop right in the middle of the lawn area. The Town could have a bylaw officer posted there and write thousands of dollars of tickets any day of the week. Some dog owners don’t even get out of the car – they let the dog poop wherever they want, and it’s time to go, Fido!
