Beach access runaround

Letters

Editor:

For several weeks now, I have tried to get an answer from the Sunshine Coast Regional District regarding access to the beach at Roberts Creek (to the left of the pier, facing the ocean). The logs that have accumulated over the years have now made it virtually impossible for seniors and families to gain access to the water. The SCRD says it is not in their jurisdiction and gave me several contact numbers: Fisheries and Oceans, Parks BC. I am getting increasingly frustrated, as they all say it is not in their jurisdiction. It seems that bureaucracy is passing the buck and nothing will be done. Is it really such an issue to saw a path through the logs?
