Grateful as I am for the consistent encouragement and support that Coast Reporter has given to Arrowhead over the years, I feel I must correct an impression left by the editor in his recent celebration of good news in the community (Coast Reporter editorial, April 23).

The groundbreaking ceremony at the former RCMP station was not just for the Arrowhead Centre. The bald facts are these: first, Arrowhead was unable to make its dream a reality; second, it "took a village" to make the project happen. As it became apparent that a valuable opportunity might slip away, others stepped in - the mayor, council and District of Sechelt staff, Vancouver Coastal Health, Community Services, BC Housing and others.

As new participants joined, they brought, of course, skills and resources, but - more important - their visions. What started out to be just a home for Arrowhead has morphed into something much greater. It is now the Dolphin Street Legacy Housing Project, a resource for the whole community including - we are glad to say - the members of Arrowhead.
