Re: “Tighter water restrictions urged in bid to combat drought fatigue,” March 29.

Ha ha! Well done! You definitely had me going for a few minutes with your story about Mayor Darnelda Siegers suggesting we all pay higher penalties because elected representatives continue to fail to remedy our water storage problem. Where you went a little too far and gave the whole thing away was stating that the mayor believes there will be “more compliance this year” with water restrictions.

I look forward to the real story relating that the Sechelt mayor and council have declared a moratorium on all building permits until they are able to ensure the infrastructure exists to support any development. As Lance Roseman so clearly stated (“A very simple question,” Letters, March 29): “If we can’t sustain the people already here … it is illogical to add more dwellings.” A simple matter, indeed.
