Easter Sunday I planned to attend my church service. Instead, I found myself riding by ambulance to Sechelt Hospital. I am thankful to my daughter and my neighbour for their immediate help, my son-in-law for his kind deeds, and the paramedics who were so pleasant and professional.

Spending three days in emergency, one cannot find words to describe the unreal situation nurses work in constantly. There are always 20 patients over census, so the nurses’ workload is beyond reason. Yet, they are there, cheerful and dedicated.

This hospital is in crisis regarding the bed shortage. I was finally admitted to the second floor for over two weeks.

Thank you is not enough to say to the wonderful nurses, care aides and all staff for their ready, willing and smiling help, day and night. They truly are angels. I also want to thank Dr. McDowell for his kind, daily attention. We are truly blessed to have this hospital and all staff in our community.
