Editor:
I was touched by the letter in the Oct. 14 paper titled “Kindness on the Coast.” Then I had an experience that showed indeed, it does happen. Last week I was called on to shop for groceries for a neighbour who was ill. I got to the checkout to find that I had left my wallet at home. I had some loonies and toonies in my pocket, but was $10 short. I am in my late 80s and realize I tend to get rattled easily of late. I ran across the mall to the barbershop and my friendly barber happily loaned me $10. When I returned to the checkout counter, the cashier told me that the kindly Asian lady who was behind me had paid for it, and by the time I realized it, she was gone. I would dearly love to identify her and repay her. If anyone can give me her name I would be very happy and thankful. Just send a note through the newspaper to [email protected]
