Re: “Community services pulls plug on plan,” Coast Reporter, June 10.
Kudos to Sunshine Coast Community Services for pulling the plug on its application of rezoning the Sechelt property, where the food bank and the community gardens are located, in order to sell it to a storage company. The plan never had the support of the public.
It was a wise decision to leave the food bank and the gardens where they currently are. There are many apartment/condo/townhouse dwellers right in the centre of Sechelt, who use these gardens. The food bank has to be in the centre of town as well. Thank you for your common sense decision from a happy garden plot user.
