Canada's political landscape changed dramatically Monday night.

After 13 years in office, the Liberal Party was ousted in the 39th General Election.

Stephen Harper and his Con-servatives have been handed the keys to the Prime Minister's office. Harper will bring with him 125 Conservative MPs and the difficult task of running the country with a minority government.

But a minority government is not always a bad thing. Just ask outgoing MP John Reynolds.

Reynolds pointed out in his interview with us this week that lots of work can get done in a minority government. Reynolds was quick to add that he was able to pass his bill on Lost Canadians, thanks to a minority government.

Canadians have spoken. And while we might not all agree with the outcome, the time is now to come together and work for the betterment of the country.

While voters across the country were turning over a new leaf, voters in this riding also asked for change.

Liberal Blair Wilson won the riding of West Vancouver - Sunshine Coast - Sea to Sky Country, ending a Tory stronghold.

Wilson was upbeat, positive and pledged to work hard for everyone in this riding when thanking supporters after his win Monday in West Vancouver.

Wilson has a lot to prove. Reynolds was a highly-respected and hard-working MP for this riding. He accomplished a lot, and his efforts will not soon be forgotten.

Wilson has a huge task of learning the job, while also helping to re-build a Liberal party that has seen its leader resign and has lost its power.

We're hoping that all parties will work with Harper and the Conservatives to restore some order in parliament. The last year and a half has been embarrassing - a gong show at times in the House. It's time to move this country forward and get things done.

The Conservatives will likely have one to two years to prove themselves before another election will be held. It will be interesting to see them in action.
