A really bad smell

Letters

Editor:

In downtown Sechelt, sometime in the wee hours of Thursday, Oct. 11, either 300 drunks tossed their cookies simultaneously in the parking lot under the windows of my apartment or staff at a local restaurant tip-toed out with a freezer full of long-spoiled food and stuffed it into a dumpster.

Since there are a number of restaurants in the downtown area, many of which have apartments above them, I cannot be sure which one was responsible for the barf-laden breeze that first infiltrated my dreams then woke me up with its pungency. The stench was such I was forced to close all windows and turn on fans to rid my home of the disgusting stink.

I beg all restaurateurs to show greater consideration for the other tenants in the buildings they occupy and be aware that their sneaky, nighttime forays do not always go unnoticed. If you must rid your premises of bad food (it says a lot about your refrigeration system, doesn’t it?), at least have the courage to take it to the dump and let the bears have it.
