A challenge to Sechelt’s churches

Letters

Editor:

It has come to my attention that recently, during these very cold days, homeless people have been turned away from the Upper Deck Guest House due to lack of space. To the NIMBY residents who pressured Sechelt council to refuse access to the Ebbtide location, I say, “Shame on you.” To the pastors, rectors, priests who could open the doors to empty halls during such an emergency I say, “Shame on you.”

Jesus’ second most important commandment was to love thy neighbour as thy self. I dare you to open doors or leave your warm cozy bed and join the homeless. I dare you, in Jesus’ name.
