As a longtime Coaster and Creeker, I support a safer highway. A stoplight in Roberts Creek will cause dangerous traffic pile-ups in an 80km/h speed zone and through the S-bends at Cliff Gilker when traffic is busy.

Now that I am beginning to feel a bit better, I wish to thank the many people who assisted me at the time and after the accident I had on July 10 in the collision with a deer on Highway 101.

Thank you Maureen Brown, for your excellent letter (Tips for transit, ferries, Coast Reporter, Aug. 7). I too, have been trying to get the attention of "the powers that be" on this important issue.

As you know, way back in 1996, a new road was built at Langdale. It moved the traffic bottleneck at the ferry terminal to the top of the hill two kilometres away and afforded a place to unload the ferry.
