A second teen girl has died after a watercraft collision on a southern Ontario lake that killed another girl and left two injured last week.

Ontario Provincial Police say they responded to the collision involving a single personal watercraft on the afternoon of Aug. 14 on Lake St. Clair near Couture Beach, located east of Windsor.

Police say first responders rescued four teenage girls from the lake with help from local residents and transported them to hospital.

A 17-year-old girl from Essex County died in hospital, while a 15-year-old and another 17-year-old sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

Police say the fourth girl, a 16-year-old from Calgary, was initially airlifted to a trauma centre with life-threatening injuries but has since died.

Investigators say they are continuing to look into the incident and ask anyone with information to contact them.
