Monday accident closes Highway 101

Sunshine Coast RCMP are continuing their investigation of a two-vehicle collision that forced the closure of Highway 101 at Leanne Road in Sechelt July 8.

Leanne Road is about two kilometres past Wakefield Road, northwest of downtown Sechelt.

The accident happened just before 4 p.m. and police had the road open to traffic again just before 6 p.m.,

RCMP said two people were taken to hospital to be assessed, and one of the two was flown to Vancouver as a precaution, but neither suffered serious injuries.
