Man hospitalized with life-threatening injuries after fire in Sechelt

An 87-year-old man was airlifted to Vancouver General Hospital with severe burns and life-threatening injuries after a Tuesday evening fire on Wigard Road in West Sechelt.

Sunshine Coast RCMP said the fire, which broke out around 6:45 p.m., destroyed the fifth-wheel trailer the man was living in despite neighbours’ efforts to try to extinguish the blaze before it got out of control.
