South Korea rebounds to defeat Canada 3-2 in Nations League women's volleyball

RIMINI, Italy — The Canadian women's volleyball team surrendered a 2-1 lead and fell 3-2 to South Korea on Monday in Nations League action. Set scores were 15-25, 25-18, 27-29, 25-20 and 21-19 as Canada fell to 3-9 at the tournament.

Set scores were 15-25, 25-18, 27-29, 25-20 and 21-19 as Canada fell to 3-9 at the tournament. 

Kiera Van Ryk of Surrey, B.C., led the Canadians in scoring with 24 points and Andrea Mitrovic of Mississauga, Ont., added 19.

Canada sits 13th in the 16-team standings. 

Canada's national men's and women's teams will both play a 15-match preliminary round until June 23. The top four countries in each division will advance to the semifinals and finals.

The women's squad returns to action against Italy on Friday. The men will play Poland on Tuesday.
