Manitoba Bisons down Alberta Golden Bears 31-17 in U Sports football

Bisons quarterback Jackson Tachinski completed 16 of 24 pass attempts for 180 yards and three touchdown passes. He was intercepted once. Tachinski also threw a touchdown pass to Michael Ritchott.

The Golden Bears split quarterbacking duties largely between Zac Montgomery and Brad Launhardt, who each scored a rushing major.

Launhardt completed 10 of 19 pass attempts for 85 yards, while Montgomery went 4-for-7 for 103 yards.

The Bisons improved to 2-0. Alberta was 1-1.

HUSKIES 43 THUNDERBIRDS 15

VANCOUVER — Saskatchewan Huskies quarterback Mason Nyhus threw for 351 yards and three touchdowns in a 43-15 win over UBC at Thunderbird Stadium.

Adam Machart and Josh Ewanchyna scored rushing majors for the Huskies (2-1). Nyhus threw a pair of touchdown passes to Colton Klassen and another to Sam Baker.

Garret Rooker scored two rushing touchdowns for the T-Birds (0-2)
