CFL moves roundup: Defensive back A.J. Hendy returns to Roughriders

REGINA — The Saskatchewan Roughriders have signed American defensive back A.J. Hendy. Hendy, 28, played 14 games with the Roughriders in 2021, making 14 defensive tackles, seven special teams tackles and one interception.

Hendy, 28, played 14 games with the Roughriders in 2021, making 14 defensive tackles, seven special teams tackles and one interception.

The six-foot-one, 205-pound Maryland native spent time in the NFL with Miami, the Los Angeles Chargers and Houston from 2016-19.

Hendy played for the XFL’s New York Guardians in 2020, collecting 26 tackles, two tackles for loss and four pass deflections.  


BOMBERS ADD DB PRIESTER

WINNIPEG — The Blue Bombers have signed American defensive back Robert Priester.

Priester, a 5-9, 180-pound native of Tampa, Fla., played in two games for Winnipeg in 2018, recording seven defensive tackles. 

The 28-year-old was in training camp with Edmonton in 2019, and played five games with Tampa Bay in the XFL in 2020.
