The Sunshine Coast Volleyball Club’s (SCVC) U18 team finished their successful season with a great performance at the BC Club Provincials on the weekend at the Richmond Olympic Oval.

The team had a fantastic first day, winning in three tough sets against Yukon Elite from Whitehorse, dispatching Squamish Wild VC in two sets, setting up a showdown for first place in the pool against Seaside from White Rock. The team again played tough to win an exciting three set match, to capture first place in the pool.

The playoffs started the next day. Unfortunately, the team ran into the same tough team from Whitehorse, eventually losing in two sets.

The team re-grouped after that quarter final defeat to win back-to-back matches against two teams from the Cougar Volleyball Club from Maple Ridge.

The team went 5-1 for the weekend; an excellent showing for this great group.

Upcoming events for SCVC team’s include U14 and U16 Provincials in Abbotsford the next two weekends, and then U14 Nationals at the Richmond Olympic Oval, May 13 to 15.
