On June 4, Gibson’s Arena was a-buzz when more than 100 Pickleball players, abundant spectators and a small army of volunteers, attended the 2022 Sunshine Coast Arena Bowl.

After a three-year hiatus, the formerly annual tournament was a resounding success!

Both competitive and convivial, 181 action-packed games were played as Sunshine Coast Pickleball Association members vied for gold, silver and bronze medals in 11 men’s, women’s and mixed categories organized by skill level.

Response to the event was so enthusiastic and numbers so high that we are likely to expand the tournament to two days next year.

A shout out to SCPA members who made the trek from Powell River, Port Coquitlam and Penticton. Kudos to all who played, all who organized the event and all who helped it run smoothly — gold medal!
