Three male young offenders from Sechelt are being investigated by Sunshine Coast RCMP following a break-in at Chatelech Secondary School early Saturday morning.

According to Cpl. Don Newman, police responded to an alarm at the school in the early morning hours of March 20.

"Immediately upon attendance, it was determined that entry had been gained and a number of suspects were inside," said Newman. "All suspects fled the school building with one located and arrested a short time and distance away. Two other suspects were identified and subsequently arrested in the hours following the break-in."

Newman said all three under age suspects were released to the custody of their parents and have been compelled to attend court at a later date.

Police are continuing to investigate.

On March 20, staff at a business in the 5500 block of Wharf Road reported a shoplifter who had just left the premises with a stolen item in his hand. The suspect was captured on surveillance camera footage.
