Sunshine Coast RCMP reported the following for March 30 to April 1:

A passerby reported a suspicious vehicle parked in the 200 block of Gower Point Road in Gibsons that was unlocked and had the motor running for more than 90 minutes. Police were able to locate the owner nearby who was surprised to learn how the vehicle had been left and admitted to forgetting to turn off and lock the vehicle. The vehicle was immediately secured.

A single-vehicle accident occurred on Highway 101 near Wakefield Road after a westbound vehicle lost control and ended up on its side in the ditch. The driver was able to get out of the vehicle, but the passenger was trapped inside. Ambulance and fire crews managed to get the passenger out and she was taken to hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

On March 31, two males were witnessed kicking a door of a residence in the 5600 block of Boulevard. The suspects fled the area before any damage or entry was made, and located a short distance away by police. Both males were intoxicated and taken to cells to sober up.

RCMP are currently investigating a theft of vehicle that occurred sometime in the early morning hours of April 1.

An unknown person entered the property of the Sunshine Coast Botanical Garden site on Mason Road and stole an early '80s GMC pick-up truck. The same truck was later seen in the Halfmoon Bay area. Several thefts of gas from parked cars are believed to be associated to the stolen truck, described as a four-door, older model, white truck with possible damage to the front bumper.

RCMP is asking for anyone with information about this theft, or the location of the vehicle, to contact police at 604-885-2266 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
