Around May 21, a thief stole a white rowboat from a waterfront property in the 5600 block of Osprey Street in Sechelt. The rowboat has "The Erbling" in black letters on its side.

A witness reported a possible impaired driver after a vehicle almost hit him near Trail Avenue and Spindrift Street in Sechelt. A licence plate, description and direction of travel were provided and police officers were able to locate the suspect a short distance away. The vehicle had expired insurance and the driver showed signs of impairment. The file is still under investigation.

A shoplifter was caught at a business in the 5530 block of Highway 101 after he was caught outside the business with unpaid items hidden in his clothing. The police officer arrested the suspect for theft under $5,000.

A shoplifter fled a business in the 5500 block of Highway 101 with stolen goods. Police were able to locate the suspect nearby when he attempted to flee again. He was apprehended and arrested for theft under $5,000 and obstruction of a police officer.

Sometime in the afternoon of May 28, a thief stole a silver Mac Book Pro laptop computer from a vehicle parked in the 1100 block of Highway 101. The vehicle showed no signs of damage, so it is believed the vehicle had been left unlocked.

Late in the evening on May 28, a call came in about a suspicious group of people in a hot tub near the 5300 block of Wakefield Beach Lane in Sechelt. The caller believed the owners of the residence were not at home, so did not believe these people were authorized to be using the hot tub. Police officers located the suspects and determined they were there without permission. They were warned to stay off the property and not to return.

Sometime overnight on May 29/30, vandals damaged garden accessories at a house in the 800 block of O'Shea Road in Gibsons and broke off a car side mirror of a vehicle parked at a second house on the same block.

Sometime on May 30, vandals smashed the glass at a bus shelter in the 1400 block of Highway 101. This is an ongoing problem on the Sunshine Coast. Anyone with any information about the culprits is asked to contact RCMP at 604-885-2266 or Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

A motor vehicle accident occurred between a motorcycle and a pick-up truck in the 1300 block of Lockyer Road in Roberts Creek after the northbound motorcycle was unable to stop in time to avoid hitting the truck, which was making a left turn off Hanbury Road onto Lockyer. The motorcyclist sustained minor injuries, but the bike had to be towed away. Due to the poor visibility at that intersection, no violation tickets were issued.
