Sunshine Coast RCMP reported the following for Sept. 29 to Oct. 6:
Police attended to a single vehicle incident in the 1100 bloc of Roberts Creek Road after a caller reported a loud crash. A heavily damaged vehicle was located, as was a damaged median, however, there was no sign of any driver or occupants. Two males were later located, and upon questioning, admitted to being the driver and passenger. The vehicle was towed. The file is still under investigation.
On Sept. 29, members were called out to assist with traffic control after a semi-truck stalled on Marine Drive near Harvey Road and jack-knifed when it attempted to reverse. A local tow company was able to winch the semi up to the hill summit, where it was eventually able to continue on its own power.
A vandal drove nails into two tires of a vehicle located in the 8800 block of Redrooffs Road, and broke the door off an electrical outlet box sometime over night on Sept. 29.
A thief stole a purse, some CD's and a car stereo face plate from an unlocked vehicle parked in the 900 block Gibsons Way while the owner was away for an hour. People are reminded that they should not leave any valuables in their cars, and to always lock them to deter opportunistic thieves.
A vandal punctured three tires of a vehicle parked in the 6500 block of Jasper Road sometime between Sept. 29 and 30.
Vandals damaged property at numerous addresses in the 12000 block of Lagoon Road between Sept. 30 and Oct. 1. The vandals tore out flowers and hanging baskets, removed lightbulbs from outdoor fixtures and placed them behind vehicle tires, broke mirrors on cars, toppled garden accessories and tore down various flags and signs.
A witness called in a possible impaired driver report after following a vehicle on Highway 101 near Roberts Creek Road. The vehicle was reportedly drifting back and forth from the shoulder over the centre line and back. Records showed several similar reports had been made about the same vehicle, and due to the registered owner's age, a medical review from ICBC has been requested.
