Sunshine Coast RCMP reported the following for Nov. 21 to 29:

RCMP attended a three-vehicle collision on Highway 101 and Field Road after a vehicle turned left onto Field into the path of an on-coming vehicle, hitting that vehicle then colliding into a third vehicle which was stopped on Field Road. No injuries were reported and the driver of the turning vehicle was issued a violation ticket for failing to yield on a left turn and a warning for driving without due care.

Between Nov. 17 and 23, a thief stole a gravity feed diesel tank from a generator at an address in the 5700 block of Mount Daniel View Road.

RCMP noticed a vehicle driving with no working tail lights. The officer followed the vehicle to an address in the 700 block of Reed Road, and when the driver opened his door, a beer bottle fell out. The driver, who admitted to consuming alcohol a short time earlier was given a roadside alcohol screening test and which resulted in a "warn" reading. The driver was issued a three-day immediate roadside prohibition.

During a Counter Attack roadblock, RCMP stopped a vehicle that attempted to avoid the roadblock that made a U-turn in order to avoid the check stop. The driver exhibited signs of impairment and admitted to having his last drink 30 minutes earlier. The driver failed a roadside alcohol-screening test and was issued a 90-day immediate roadside prohibition. His vehicle was impounded for 30 days and his driver's licence was seized.

On Nov. 26, a thief broke into a business in the 5600 block of Teredo Street. The thief used a rock to break through a window and stole cash from a till. The file is still under investigation.

Overnight on Nov. 26, a thief gained entry into an unlocked vehicle parked in Gibsons and stole some financial documents. No other theft occurred, and no damage was reported.

Overnight on Nov. 26, a thief gained entry into an unlocked vehicle parked in the 500 block of Central Avenue and stole some change and documents.

On Nov. 27, a thief smashed a window of a vehicle parked in the 5600 block of Cowrie Street and stole a Wii video game system.

Vehicle owners are reminded to properly secure their vehicles and ensure valuables are removed when unattended.

On Nov. 28, a collision occurred between a motorcycle and a vehicle on Inlet Avenue at Teredo Street after a vehicle attempting to cross Teredo from Inlet cut in front of the motorcycle going north on Teredo. The driver of the vehicle did not see the motorcyclist and neither vehicle was able to react in time to avoid collision. The motorcyclist was taken to St. Mary's Hospital however displayed no obvious injuries. No violation tickets were issued, but a recommendation for both drivers to be re-tested has been forwarded.
