Police located a demolished vehicle, but there was no sign of the driver, and calls to the driver's cell and residence went unanswered. A search was conducted in the bush nearby with negative results. Police located the driver a short time later on the highway and he was transported to St. Mary's Hospital for treatment of some injuries.
On July 2, a business in the 5500 block of Wharf Road reported a suspect who'd attempted to leave the business with stolen property. Staff were able to recover the item before the suspect fled. The male was arrested for theft and given conditions to stay away from the affected businesses.
