On Sept. 8, two thieves were caught stealing merchandise from a business in the 5500 block of Sunshine Coast Highway. The suspects returned the items and are now banned from the premises.

A thief stole a Jobmate tool bag, a Chicago Tools bag, and a fly fishing rod in a green case from an address in the 1100 block of Stewart Road sometime on Sept. 8.

Early on Sept. 9, a business owner in the 5600 block of Dolphin Street heard the sound of glass breaking, and discovered a male suspect inside the premises. The business owner tried to stop the suspect, but he was able to flee through the window he'd broken to gain entry. The thief made off with several bottles of liquor. Police are reviewing surveillance footage.

Between Sept. 9 and 10, a thief stole an amplifier and subwoofer out of an unlocked vehicle parked in the 8000 block of Northwood Road. The amplifier is marked with the word "bazuka" on it.

On Sept. 10, a thief stole a customer's purse from a business in the 5600 block of Cowrie Street. The purse was recovered at another business a block away, minus the cash.

On Sept. 10, a business owner in the 900 block of Gibsons Way apprehended a youth for shoplifting, and obtained info about a second shoplifter who had fled the premises with the stolen goods. The parents of both youth were contacted and the second shoplifter returned to the business with the stolen items. The file is being referred to Restorative Justice.

Sometime overnight between Sept. 10 and 11, three vehicles, one parked in the 5400 block of Monkey Tree Lane, the second in the 5700 block of Ebbtide Street, and the third in the 5800 block of Sechelt Inlet Road were damaged by a vandal who smashed a window in all cases. Nothing was stolen from any of the vehicles.

A thief stole a 9.5 horsepower Johnson boat motor off a boat that was parked in the 270 block of Gower Point Road while the owner was at a business in the area during the evening on Sept. 11.

Owners arrived at a part-time residence in the 6700 block of Maple Road and discovered that vandals had broken in sometime over the past few weeks. The vandals left a mess and turned off power so that food spoiled, but nothing was stolen.

In the afternoon of Sept. 14, a vandal keyed both sides of a vehicle parked in the 5500 block of Inlet Avenue.
